BlizzCon Unveils New Events: Six Warcraft Conventions Announced

Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration

Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a global tour featuring six fan conventions across the globe. These intimate gatherings, scheduled between February 22nd and May 10th, 2025, offer a unique opportunity for fans to celebrate the franchise's rich history.

Following Blizzard's decision to forgo BlizzCon in 2024 and instead participate in events like Gamescom and host its inaugural Warcraft Direct, the World Tour represents a significant shift in their approach to fan engagement. The tour celebrates major milestones, including World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first.

The tour kicks off in London (February 22nd) and continues to Seoul (March 8th), Toronto (March 15th), Sydney (April 3rd), Sao Paulo (April 19th), culminating in Boston during PAX East (May 10th).

Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Dates:

  • February 22 – London, United Kingdom
  • March 8 – Seoul, South Korea
  • March 15 – Toronto, Canada
  • April 3 – Sydney, Australia
  • April 19 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • May 10 – Boston, United States (PAX East)

While details remain scarce, the events promise live entertainment, exclusive activities, and opportunities to connect with Warcraft developers. Unlike BlizzCon or Warcraft Direct, the focus is on creating memorable experiences rather than major announcements.

Ticket Information:

Tickets for these events will be free but extremely limited. Blizzard indicates that information on how to obtain tickets will be released via regional Warcraft channels. Fans are encouraged to monitor their local channels for updates.

The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. While a summer/autumn BlizzCon could showcase content from the World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion, including highly anticipated player housing, Blizzard hasn't confirmed its return. The possibility of a biannual convention schedule is hinted at, similar to Final Fantasy XIV's Fan Festival. Regardless, securing a spot on the Warcraft World Tour is highly recommended for a unique and immersive Warcraft experience.
