Bandai Namco Ends Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage

Bandai Namco has officially announced the closure of Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, their fortress strategy action RPG. This marks yet another gacha game from Bandai Namco that's calling it quits. For many players, this news isn't unexpected, given the history of similar games.

This isn't the first time a Naruto gacha game has faced such a fate. Fans might recall the struggles and eventual shutdown of Naruto Blazing, which also grappled with PvP issues.

When Is Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Shutting Down?

Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, which launched in 2017, has had a commendable run of nearly seven years. The game is set to shut down on December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until that date.

Before its end-of-service (EOS), the game has lined up several events. The Village Leader World Championship will run from October 8th to October 18th, followed by the All-Out Mission from October 18th to November 1st. A 'Thanks For Everything' campaign will then take place from November 1st to December 1st, marking the final events.

During this period, players can still collect Ninja Cards, participate in summoning events, and use their in-game items until the very last day. If you have any Gold Coins saved, it's advisable to spend them before the shutdown.

What Went Wrong?

Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage started strong, offering a balanced system where players could build their own village, set traps, and use their favorite Naruto characters for defense even when offline. However, around the midpoint of its lifespan, issues began to surface.

The introduction of Minato marked a shift towards power creep, which didn't sit well with the community. Additionally, the game saw an increase in pay-to-win elements, a reduction in free-to-play rewards, and a near disappearance of multiplayer features. These changes made it clear to many that the game's days were numbered.

If you're curious, you can still try Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage on the Google Play Store.
