Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down

The global version of the mobile RPG, Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, will cease operations on March 28th, 2025. This announcement comes from Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games, just over a year after the game's global launch in January 2024. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation. This creates a stark contrast, as the Japanese server will be celebrating its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025, the same month the global server shuts down.

End of Service (EOS) Date:

March 28th, 2025. Global players will conclude their experience at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while the Japanese players progress into Chapter 22 (Part 2).

In-Game Purchases and Future Events:

In-game purchases have been disabled. However, players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems. Koei Tecmo has promised additional content and events leading up to the shutdown.

Reasons for Shutdown:

The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the global server closure. The game struggled to gain traction, facing criticism almost immediately after launch regarding its gacha system, gameplay mechanics, monetization strategies, and significant power creep. These factors ultimately contributed to the decision to end service.
