Assassin's Creed Shadows' First DLC, "Claws of Awaji," Leaks on Steam

Details regarding the upcoming "Claws of Awaji" expansion for Assassin's Creed Shadows have reportedly surfaced via a now-removed Steam update, according to Insider Gaming. This first DLC for the highly anticipated title adds significant new content.

Set in feudal Japan, Assassin's Creed Shadows introduces dual protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe, navigating 16th-century Japan. The game's development has faced challenges, including delays and negative reactions to certain character choices. The latest delay pushed the release date to March 20, 2025.

The leaked Steam information reveals "Claws of Awaji" will introduce a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities, extending gameplay by over 10 hours. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to this DLC and a bonus mission.

The Leak and Recent Delay

The leak emerged following Ubisoft's announcement of yet another delay. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, then shifted to February 14, 2025, the game's launch is now set for March 20, 2025, to allow for further refinement.

Ubisoft's Uncertain Future

This delay coincides with ongoing speculation regarding Ubisoft's future, fueled by rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition. The company has recently faced challenges, with several major titles underperforming financially.
