IGN kann bestätigen, dass Hollow Knight: Silksong im September 2025 auf einer australischen Museumausstellung spielbar sein wird.

Das lang erwartete Sequel des in Adelaide ansässigen Teams Team Cherry führt weiterhin die globalen Steam-Wunschlisten an. Während das Studio bisher nur ein grobes Veröffentlichungsfenster für 2025 bestätigt hat, können Besucher des ACMI in Melbourne (Australiens Nationalmuseum für Bildschirmkultur) das Spiel ab dem 18. September erstmals selbst erleben.

Game Worlds-Ausstellung präsentiert Silksong

Silksong wird in der Game Worlds-Ausstellung gezeigt, wo Spieler es hands-on ausprobieren können, begleitet von Exponaten, die die Designphilosophie und künstlerische Vision des Spiels durch Entwicklungsartefakte beleuchten.

"Seit seiner Ankündigung 2019 bleibt Silksong eines der am meisten erwarteten Indie-Spiele", sagten die ACMI-Kuratoren Bethan Johnson und Jini Maxwell. "Es ist eine Ehre, dieses in Südaustralien entwickelte Meisterwerk als zentrales Element von Game Worlds zu präsentieren – von Hornets komplexen Sprite-Animationen bis zur Logik hinter herausfordernden Bosskämpfen."

Die Ausstellung beinhaltet exklusive Entwicklungsmaterialien wie dieses neu enthüllte Sprite-Sheet (siehe unten), das mit Team Cherrys Genehmigung an IGN weitergegeben wurde, neben weiteren Einblicken hinter die Kulissen.

Spekulationen zur Veröffentlichung

Da diese Museumsausstellung für September bestätigt ist, spekulieren Fans, dass die Vollversion möglicherweise vor dem Event erscheint – eventuell im Einklang mit Team Cherrys jüngstem Auftritt auf der Switch 2-Präsentation, der das 2025-Fenster endgültig festlegte.

Ursprünglich für Switch und PC mit späteren Xbox/PlayStation-Versionen angekündigt, umfasst Silksongs Entwicklungsreise mehrere kryptische Teasers – darunter das berüchtigte Schokoladenkuchen-Rezept dieses Jahres, das die Fangemeinde über mögliche Enthüllungen im April spekulieren ließ.
