In einer formalen Erklärung äußerte Bandai das Bedauern über die Stornierung und erklärte, dass ihre Unfähigkeit, einen zufriedenstellenden laufenden Service zu erbringen, angab. Sie erkannten auch ihre Enttäuschung bei der Einstellung der globalen Entwicklung mit Amazon -Spielen an.
Bis zum letzten Tag des Spiels verpflichtet sich Bandai, durch Updates und neue Inhalte weiter zu unterstützen. Die Einkäufe und Rückerstattungen im Spiel (In-Game-Währung) werden jedoch eingestellt. Als Entschädigung erhalten die Spieler monatlich 5.000 Rosenkugeln (ab September 2024) und 250 Rosenkugeln täglich. Darüber hinaus ist der Pass der 9. Staffel (und die folgenden Jahreszeiten) kostenlos, und das endgültige Update, Kapitel 7, ist für den 18. Dezember 2024 geplant.
Das im Juni 2023 in Japan ins Leben gerufene Blue Protocol erregte zunächst erhebliche Aufmerksamkeit und hatte über 200.000 gleichzeitige Spieler. Frühe Serverprobleme und die anschließende Notfallwartung haben den Start jedoch beeinträchtigt. Die Spielerzahlen schwanden und Unzufriedenheit.
Trotz eines vielversprechenden Starts konnte das Blue Protocol seine Spielerbasis nicht behalten und die finanziellen Projektionen von Bandai Namco zurückblieb. Diese zuvor in ihrem Finanzbericht (enden am 31. März 2024) festgestellte Underperformance führte letztendlich zur Entscheidung, den Dienst zu beenden.
