Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown

Love Sudoku? Battle of Sudoku lets you test your skills against other players or teams! The goal remains the classic Sudoku challenge: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each row, column, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before you begin, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players must solve simultaneously. Everyone starts with the same puzzle.

Game Modes:

The game offers two modes, configurable in the options:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players. Only the first player to correctly place a number earns points.
• Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers: Players can't see each other's correct numbers, allowing for multiple players to earn points for the same correct number.

Time-Outs: Incorrectly placed numbers result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, adjustable in options).

Scoring: Correct numbers earn points, based on the difficulty level. Incorrect numbers deduct half the points you would have earned for a correct placement.

Winning: The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. In "Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers" mode, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, though this doesn't grant extra points; other players can still win by having fewer incorrect entries.

Team Play: Team mode allows two teams to compete. Players select their team (1 or 2) upon joining. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/colors are shared within the team, facilitating collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar provides tools to aid in solving:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares. Selecting a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
