Application Description
In Arab countries, particularly in the Levant region, a popular card game known as Tarneeb blackjack is widely enjoyed. In the Arab Gulf states, it is referred to as "rule." The primary goal of Tarneeb is to secure consecutive victories in Tarneeb rounds. This engaging game is played by four players, split into two teams, with each team consisting of two players seated opposite each other. The competition continues across multiple rounds until a winning team is declared.
Tarneeb is played with a standard 52-card deck, excluding the Joker. The gameplay begins with the player to the left of the dealer, who initiates the bidding process. Each round involves all four players, with partners facing each other across the table.
The initial deal of the cards starts from the player to the right of the dealer. Bidding in Tarneeb begins at seven and can go up to thirteen, known as "Cabot" or "livers." Bidding proceeds in a clockwise direction starting from the player to the right of the dealer, and the highest bidder selects the trump suit, known as Tarneeb.
If a team fails to meet their bid, they face a penalty. For instance, if a team bids for ten tricks but only secures nine, the opposing team is awarded the points they collected from their tricks. In this scenario, if the opposing team collected five tricks, the penalty would be revealed.
The game concludes when one of the teams reaches either 61 or 31 points, depending on the agreement made before the game begins.
The card hierarchy in Tarneeb is as follows:
- Ace (Cut)
- King (Sheikh)
- Queen (girl)
- Jack (born)
- Followed by 10 down to 2 in descending order.
