Application Description
High-Quality USB Camera Viewer & HDMI Display
To transform your device into a portable display for cameras, gaming consoles, laptops, PCs, or other devices with HDMI output, you'll need an HDMI to USB-C dongle, also known as a UVC capture device or video capture card. Note that this is not the same as a USB-C hub or a USB-C to HDMI cable.
Additionally, cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes with USB streaming capabilities are also supported.
Noir supports both UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, offering you a choice between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend. The free version provides basic functionality and an immersive experience, though it does contain ads (not shown during the preview). Opt for the pro version to unlock additional features and contribute to Noir's ongoing development and maintenance.

FAQ
Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?
Possible reasons include your phone or tablet not supporting USB Host (OTG) or the device not being a Video Capture Card. Additionally, your device might not supply enough power for the capture card, in which case a USB hub can provide the necessary additional power.
Why is the preview so laggy?
Lag often results from using the wrong USB version. Ensure that a USB 3.0 capture card is used with a USB 3.0 cable and port. For USB 2.0 capture cards, use MJPEG format and keep the video within 1080p30fps, though some cards can handle up to 1080p50fps.
Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect?
This issue is typically due to system-related problems. A simple restart of your phone or tablet can often resolve this.
Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected?
This issue is prevalent with PS5 and PS4 users due to HDCP being enabled. Disable HDCP by navigating to Settings -> System -> HDMI on your PS console. PS3 does not allow HDCP to be turned off. Other devices might also enable HDCP when playing video content, causing a black screen. Some HDMI splitters can bypass HDCP restrictions, but this solution is not endorsed here; explore it at your own discretion.
Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?
Currently, no capture cards support ratios other than these. You can use Noir's Stretch feature to achieve your desired ratio, provided your capture card's EDID supports it and you set your laptop or computer's output resolution accordingly.
