Assassin's Creed Shadows: March 20, 2025 Release Date Confirmed

Ubisoft has announced another delay for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the release date back to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a February 14, 2025 launch, this marks a five-week postponement from the previously announced date.

The publisher cites the need to incorporate player feedback as the reason for the delay, aiming to deliver a refined and polished gaming experience. This contrasts with the initial three-month delay announced in September 2024, which stemmed from internal development challenges related to historical accuracy.

Ubisoft's Vice President and Executive Producer, Marc-Alexis Coté, emphasized the company's commitment to a high-quality, immersive experience, fostered by ongoing player interaction. He reiterated that the additional time will be used to further refine and polish the game.

Key Details:

  • New Release Date: March 20, 2025
  • Reason for Delay: Incorporation of player feedback.
  • Previous Delay: A three-month delay from November 15, 2024, to February 14, 2025, due to development challenges.

While Ubisoft offered pre-order refunds and expansion access for the initial delay, there's been no announcement of similar compensation for this shorter postponement. The delay might also be linked to Ubisoft's internal investigation into its development practices, aimed at creating more "player-centric" games. This move aligns with the company's efforts to address recent financial setbacks and improve player satisfaction.
