In addition to the technical enhancements, the No Return mode is set to receive exciting updates. Two new characters, Bill and Marlene from *The Last of Us Part I*, are being introduced, each with unique playstyles.

Bill adopts a "Smuggler" playstyle, equipped with a custom pump shotgun accessible from dead drops and receiving double rewards from drops. He excels in melee combat but cannot dodge. Marlene, on the other hand, embodies a "Risk Taker" playstyle with a Custom Assault Rifle and "All or Nothing" gambits, with the ability to reroute her No Return path once per run.

Four new maps are being added to No Return: Overlook, set high above Seattle with verticality; School, the abandoned elementary school from the campaign; Streets, in the overgrown Hillcrest neighborhood; and Nest, familiar to players who played as Abby.

All new No Return content, including new Trophies and bug fixes, will be available on PS5 simultaneously with the PC launch through a free downloadable 2.0.0 patch, Sony confirmed.

Following Sony's recent policy update, *The Last of Us 2 Remastered* on PC features an optional PSN log-in. Signing into PSN unlocks the PlayStation overlay, PSN Trophies, and additional in-game incentives, including 50 in-game points to activate bonus features and a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 game, *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*.

PS5 players can also unlock the Jordan's jacket skin through the 2.0 patch using in-game bonus points.

Neil Druckmann, the director of *The Last of Us*, recently shared insights into *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet* during an interview with Alex Garland. Druckmann revealed that the game has been in development for four years and explores themes of faith and religion in an alternate historical timeline, featuring Tati Gabrielle as the protagonist, Jordan A. Mun.

The PC release of *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* comes ahead of Season 2 of HBO's TV adaptation, where showrunners Druckmann and Craig Mazin have confirmed the return of spores, which were omitted from Season 1.
