Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! While lacking new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, Niantic still offers festive fun. The event, running from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm, features boosted Shiny rates for wild spawns including a ribboned Jigglypuff, a New Year's Hoothoot, and a party-hatted Wurmple. Enjoy increased XP for Excellent Throws (2,025 XP!), and festive fireworks!

Raids also get a celebratory makeover. Tier One features a snowflake-capped Pikachu, while Tier Three offers party-hatted Raticate and Wobbuffet, both with increased Shiny odds. Field Research and PokéStop Showcases provide additional themed encounters.

Beyond the New Year's festivities, January brings the Eggs-pedition Access pass ($4.99). Available from January 1st to 31st, this pass enhances your gameplay with increased Gift storage (up to 40), daily Gift openings (up to 50), and a boosted Gift collection from Photo Discs (150!).
