Official Disco Elysium Mobile Version Announced, ZA/UM Calls It a 'Fun, On-the-Go Alternative' Aimed at TikTok Users
Following the buzz around their new game Project C4, ZA/UM has exciting news for fans of the critically acclaimed Disco Elysium. They've announced an exclusive mobile version tailored for Android devices, aiming to introduce the game to new audiences while providing a convenient, on-the-go option for existing fans. The first two chapters of Disco Elysium will be available for free on mobile, with a one-time payment option to unlock the full, ad-free experience.
ZA/UM emphasized their commitment to ensuring players can make an informed purchase decision, reflecting their dual role as creators and custodians of the Disco Elysium IP. "We take both of those roles very seriously and we believe that is evident in the Disco Elysium mobile experience we are creating," stated ZA/UM.

Studio head Denis Havel highlighted the strategy to engage the TikTok audience, aiming to deliver quick, engaging snippets of story, art, and audio. "We intend to captivate the TikTok user with quick hits of compelling story, art, and audio, ultimately creating an all new, deeply engaging form of entertainment," Havel explained.
Alongside the announcement, ZA/UM unveiled a debut trailer and stunning screenshots of Disco Elysium on mobile. The game features newly crafted 360-degree scenes that immerse players directly into the world of Revachol, complemented by full voiceover audio for a richer character experience.
The official description promises a reimagined version of the award-winning psychological RPG, optimized for mobile users' habits with short play sessions. "This story-rich adventure has been optimized for short play sessions, allowing players to dive in anytime, anyplace on their mobile devices," reads the blurb.
Narrative Lead Chris Priestman described the mobile version as "what audiobooks wish they were," designed to be enjoyed in brief bursts. Disco Elysium is set to launch on Google Android in the summer of 2025.
It's important to note that, despite the studio retaining its name, many key contributors to the original Disco Elysium have since left ZA/UM. Numerous former ZA/UM members have left the studio since Disco Elysium's release, with some now working on spiritual successors.
