Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders Begin April 9

Nintendo has officially announced that preorders for the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will commence on April 9 in the United States, and a day earlier on April 8 in the UK. Mark your calendars for the big day on June 5, 2025, when the Nintendo Switch 2 will hit the shelves at a price of $449.99.

For fans eager to dive straight into gaming, there's a special Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle available at a suggested retail price of $499.99 in the US. This bundle includes the new system along with a download code for the exciting Mario Kart World game, ready from the launch day. If you're looking to buy Mario Kart World separately, be prepared for a price tag of $79.99.

You can also register your interest with Nintendo to be notified about preorders for Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories via the My Nintendo Store. Invitations to purchase will be sent out via email on a first-come, first-served basis, giving priority to users who have a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and at least 50 gameplay hours logged by April 2, 2025.

After priority users receive their invites, remaining eligible registrants will be considered. Keep in mind, these invitations are non-transferable and valid for 72 hours. You're allowed to purchase one system and one of each accessory per account. Expect all major retailers to also open up preorders on April 9, 2025.
