"Nintendo Switch 2: Applause Erupts as Zelda Speedrunner Defeats Boss in Under 10 Minutes"
At the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, a speedrunner for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild set an impressive record by completing the game's Nintendo Switch 2 version within a 10-minute time limit. Japanese content creator Ikaboze, as reported by VGC, utilized an existing save file without prior knowledge of Link’s equipment. In a daring move, Ikaboze chose to "defeat the final boss while tied up completely naked and with all my equipment removed," leading to a direct confrontation with Ganon. Remarkably, just seven minutes into the challenge, Ganon was defeated, prompting spontaneous applause from onlookers.

The feat was all the more impressive as Ikaboze navigated the unfamiliar controller and couldn't hear the game over the convention hall's noise. Reflecting on the event, Ikaboze said, “I was surprised by how many people had gathered. Staff were even filming on their smartphones. This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and staff congratulated me."
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild boasts improved visuals and performance, achievements, and integrates with the new "Zelda Notes" service within the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can access these enhancements by purchasing a $10 "upgrade pack."
