The long-awaited details of the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally been unveiled, and the specs are more impressive than many had anticipated. The new console supports 120fps and can reach up to 4K resolution when docked, setting a new standard for gaming performance in the Switch family.

PlayDuring the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased various features of the system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. This new screen offers double the pixels, supporting 1080p at up to 120fps in handheld mode, and it's an LCD screen with HDR capabilities. When docked, it can deliver up to 4K resolution with HDR.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers feature a magnetic connection system and can be detached using a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing playability in horizontal mode, and the left and right sticks have also been upsized. This segment also officially introduced mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.

The handheld version of the Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and 3D audio support for compatible games. It also features a more robust and adjustable stand than the original Switch, allowing for various viewing heights. Additionally, a top USB port is available for external camera connectivity or for charging the system in tabletop mode.

The Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage, ensuring ample space for your gaming needs.
