Renowned insider and editor of Windows Central, Jez Corden, has officially confirmed that Microsoft is actively developing the Gears of War Collection. Speculation about this compilation has been circulating recently, and Corden has verified that the collection will not include the franchise's iconic multiplayer mode. Rumors suggest that an official announcement for the Gears of War Collection might be made at the upcoming Xbox Showcase event in June. Although specific details on which titles will be included are still under wraps, insiders believe the collection may feature the first three entries in the series.
In parallel, development on the next major installment, Gears of War: E-Day, is progressing using Unreal Engine 5 for PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms. While recent leaks hinted at a possible release later this year, Corden believes a 2026 launch is more likely.
