Mass Effect

Jennifer Hale, the iconic voice of FemShep in the original Mass Effect trilogy, expresses her enthusiasm for Amazon's upcoming live-action adaptation. She reveals a desire to participate in the series and advocates for the inclusion of as many original voice actors as possible, highlighting their exceptional talent and contributions to the game's success.

Amazon's Mass Effect series, currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios, faces the unique challenge of adapting the game's branching narrative and customizable protagonist, Commander Shepard. The casting of Shepard, a character deeply personalized by players, presents a significant hurdle.

In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Hale, whose extensive voice acting credits include the female Commander Shepard, voiced her keen interest in joining the project. She emphasized the importance of reuniting the original voice cast, praising their exceptional talent and suggesting that overlooking them would be a missed opportunity. She stated, "The voice acting community are some of the most brilliant performers I've ever met [...] So I'm ready for the smart production company that stops overlooking that gold mine."

Hale naturally favors a live-action portrayal reflecting the FemShep she originated, but expresses openness to any role within the series. She also expresses excitement about the possibility of returning for future Mass Effect video game installments.

The Mass Effect universe boasts a remarkable ensemble of voice actors and celebrities, contributing significantly to its immersive world. The return of actors like Brandon Keener (Garrus Vakarian), Raphael Sbarge (Kaidan Alenko), or Hale herself would undoubtedly delight long-time fans of the franchise.
