Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen has announced significant changes to team-up skills for Season 2. In a recent interview with PC Gamer on March 14, Chen shared insights into the game's next major update, stating, "Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones. Together with seasonal overall balance adjustments, this will create a new combat environment and experience for the season."

Currently, the game features 17 team-up skills, including Ragnarok Rebirth for Hela with either Loki or Thor, Lunar Force for Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight, and Allied Agents for Hawkeye and Black Widow. With the game's expanding roster, balancing these heroes will be a challenging yet exciting task for NetEase.

Balancing Heroes

Chen elaborated on the approach to balancing heroes in Marvel Rivals, especially as new characters are added regularly. He explained, "First, we will closely monitor key metrics for heroes across different modes. For example, in Quick Match and Competitive Modes, we will analyze data such as win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, damage taken, and final blows for heroes at various ranks and in different tournaments. This data serves as the foundation for our balancing efforts."

He further noted, "At the same time, we will analyze the composition of hero lineups and their win rates within the aforementioned modes, which will be crucial references for our overall balancing direction. Finally, we will pay close attention to the player community as one of the bases for our balancing decisions."

Chen also mentioned in a January interview with Metro that Marvel Rivals will introduce a new hero every half-season. With each season lasting about three months, the game could add up to eight new heroes annually. As the roster grows, so does the complexity of maintaining game balance.

Moreover, Chen confirmed that the content for Season 2 is ready, and designs for Seasons 3 and 4 are already completed and in development. This aligns with NetEase's commitment to support Marvel Rivals for 10 years and beyond, ensuring a steady stream of exciting updates for fans.

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Ironman Coming on March 20

NetEase announced via Marvel Rivals' official Twitter (X) account on March 18 that new skins for Spiderman and Iron Man will be available starting March 20 at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21 at 2:00 AM UTC. Spiderman's "Spider-Punk 2099" skin features a futuristic look with a digital mask and spiked mohawk, complete with an electric guitar. These skins were previously showcased during the game's closed beta, and follow the release of Loki’s Presidential attire from the beta period. Although the release date for these skins has been set, their prices have yet to be announced.
