New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon
Exciting new developments have emerged for the much-anticipated Lion King ride set to grace Disneyland Paris. According to the Disney Parks Blog, this attraction, which marks the first-ever land and ride themed to The Lion King, is slated to begin construction in Fall 2025. This thrilling water ride will be a centerpiece of the revamped Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be renamed Disney Adventure World.
The Lion King land promises to immerse guests in the iconic moments of the 1994 animated classic, featuring a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock. Beyond the ride, visitors can look forward to a plethora of dining options, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more.
Disney has unveiled a captivating concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just a snippet of what guests can expect, as the ride will also feature an exhilarating 52-foot drop, surpassing Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches.
Although an exact opening date hasn't been set, The Lion King ride is scheduled to debut following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. It will be a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will expand to twice the size of the current park.
In addition to The Lion King and World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, with Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another exciting addition is the first-ever attraction themed after Up, described as a "spinning carousel" offering panoramic views of the park's stunning landscapes.
The World Premiere entrance, set to open on May 15, 2025, will be another highlight of Disney Adventure World. Designed to evoke the glamour of a Hollywood premiere, it will be complemented by World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, featuring theaters hosting shows like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
