God of War Ragnarok 20th Anniversary Update: Patch 06.02 Details Dark Odyssey Collection

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the God of War franchise with the latest update for God of War Ragnarök, version 06.02. Santa Monica Studio has released comprehensive patch notes that detail the new content included in the Dark Odyssey Collection. This update brings a wealth of Norse-themed goodies, all available at no additional cost to players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

The Dark Odyssey Collection introduces a stunning array of cosmetic options for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya, inspired by the iconic black and gold theme from the original God of War series. Kratos can now sport the Dark Odyssey Armor Set, complete with the Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Bracers, and Belt. Atreus and Freya are not left out, with the Dark Odyssey Vestment and Witch Frock respectively. Additionally, all of Kratos' godly weaponry, including the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Draupnir Spear, receive updated appearances and attachments, tailored for their fully upgraded versions.

A significant addition to this update is the "Edit Appearance" feature, allowing players to customize their characters' looks without affecting the armor's abilities and skills. This gives you the freedom to choose your favorite aesthetics while maintaining your preferred gameplay style, making it the perfect time to dive back into the epic battle against Thor and Odin.

While the Dark Odyssey Collection has excited many fans, some were hoping for more from Santa Monica Studio's 20th-anniversary celebration. There were calls for modern remasters of classics like God of War, God of War 2, and God of War 3. However, no such plans have been announced yet. Despite this, Sony continues to keep the community engaged with new merchandise and vinyl releases, promising ongoing entertainment for God of War enthusiasts.

Inspired by the working name of God of War (2005) and the skin that originally appeared in God of War II as a reward for beating the game on God Mode difficulty, we have brought back the black and gold theme for the anniversary.
