Final Fantasy XIV Offers Free Login Campaign Through February 6th

Square Enix has re-launched its popular Free Login Campaign for Final Fantasy XIV, giving players with inactive accounts a chance to return to Eorzea for a limited time. This campaign, running until February 6th, 2025, allows eligible players four consecutive days of free gameplay across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

The campaign's timing coincides with the recent release of Patch 7.15, which introduced new side quests within the Dawntrail expansion, including the continuation of the Hildibrand storyline and a fresh Custom Delivery client. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's New Year's message further fueled anticipation, confirming the upcoming release of Patches 7.2 and 7.3 in 2025, alongside smaller content updates. Yoshida also teased future directions for the Dawntrail main storyline, sparking much speculation among the fanbase.

This free access period provides a perfect opportunity for players who've taken a break to rejoin the adventure. The campaign began January 9th, 2025, at 3:00 AM Eastern Time and concludes February 6th, 2025, at 9:59 AM Eastern Time. The four-day playtime timer begins upon logging into the game launcher.

Eligibility requires a previously purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV account that has been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign start. Players with suspended or cancelled accounts due to Terms of Service violations are ineligible. Square Enix encourages players to verify their eligibility and account details through the Mog Station.

While the Free Login Campaign is active, players can participate in the ongoing Heavensturn event (until January 16th), earning a unique minion reward. Patch 7.16, launching January 21st, will conclude the Dawntrail Role Quest side series. This provides returning players a chance to catch up before the arrival of Patch 7.2 in the coming weeks. The future of Dawntrail in 2025 remains shrouded in mystery, awaiting Square Enix's official announcements.
