Star Wars Celebration unveiled thrilling new details about an upcoming update for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, themed around The Mandalorian and Grogu. This update, set to launch on May 22, 2026, will coincide with the release of the new movie but will offer a unique storyline. In this adventure, players will join forces with Din Djarin and Grogu to pursue a high-stakes bounty across the galaxy. The plot kicks off with Hondo Ohnaka discovering a secretive deal on Tatooine between former Imperial officers and pirates, setting the stage for an exhilarating chase.
This choose-your-own-adventure-style storyline will allow guests to visit multiple iconic planets, including Coruscant, Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor. While full details are yet to be disclosed, we know that Engineers will have a significant role in this new mission, ensuring the safety and well-being of Grogu. This adds a delightful element to the gameplay, promising fun and unexpected moments.
In an exclusive interview with Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama, we learned more about what to expect. "Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually get to communicate with Grogu," Kalama shared. "There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a little happy on the control panel. We love the idea of there being these fun little vignettes and moments where you're sort of on the comm with Grogu."
Kalama also highlighted the choose-your-own-adventure aspect, explaining, "There will be a critical moment in your adventure where you are strapped for time and have to make a lightning quick decision about which of our particular bounties we want to pursue. This decision will be the inciting incident that allows us to decide which destinations we visit."
