Conquer Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake: A Comprehensive Guide

After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia the Everbird, you're ready to tackle Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake. This challenging dungeon serves as the ultimate test before venturing into the underworld. This guide details navigating and conquering Baramos's Lair in the HD-2D Remake.

Baramos's Lair, home to the Archfiend Baramos, is inaccessible until you obtain Ramia. Aim for a party level of at least 20 before attempting this challenge. The dungeon holds valuable items, detailed in subsequent sections.

Reaching Baramos's Lair

Reaching Baramos's Lair

Having completed the Maw of the Necrogond and acquired the Silver Orb, you'll unlock Ramia. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or Necrogond Shrine to the island north of Necrogond, nestled amidst mountains. This island houses Baramos's Lair. Ramia will deposit you near the entrance; simply proceed north to enter.

Navigating Baramos's Lair

Baramos's Lair deviates from typical dungeon structures. Instead of linear progression, you'll traverse indoor and outdoor areas to reach Baramos. The main outdoor area, "Surroundings," serves as a central hub. This guide outlines the optimal path to the boss fight, with treasure locations detailed separately.

Main Path to Baramos:

  1. Upon entering from the overworld, bypass the main entrance. Instead, circumnavigate the castle's eastern side towards the northeastern pool.
  2. Ascend the stairs to the pool, turn left (west), and climb another stair set. Enter the door on your right.
  3. Navigate the Eastern Tower to its top and exit.
  4. Cross the castle roof southwest, descend stairs, continue west, and pass through the gaps in the northwestern double wall. Use the northwestern stair set.
  5. In the Central Tower, use "Safe Passage" to cross electrified floor panels and descend to B1 Passageway A.
  6. In B1 Passageway A, head east to the far eastern stairs.
  7. Ascend the stairs in the South-East Tower, proceed northeast to the roof, then west to another stair set, leading to the western section. Cross the grass northwest and enter the only door.
  8. Exit the small northeast section of the Central Tower.
  9. Traverse B1 Passageway B north and ascend the stairs.
  10. Enter the Throne Room, avoiding floor panels, and exit south.
  11. From the "Surroundings" map, locate the northeast island structure (Baramos's Den) for the boss fight.
