"State of Decay 3 Release Delayed to Post-2026"
Insider Jez Corden, in the latest episode of the Xbox Two podcast, has shared that fans of the zombie action game State of Decay 3 should temper their expectations for a release until 2026. Initially, the developers at Undead Labs had set their sights on a 2025 launch, but according to Corden, the game's debut has been pushed back to early 2026.
Corden emphasized that the development of State of Decay 3 is further along than public perception might suggest. However, he did not delve into specifics regarding the game's progress. While this news might be a letdown for eager fans, it's worth noting that earlier rumors had pegged the release for as late as 2027, making a 2026 launch appear relatively more promising.
The most recent trailer for the sequel, released in June of this year, offered a glimpse into the game's intense gunfights with zombies and showcased post-apocalyptic vehicles reminiscent of the Mad Max franchise. The narrative of State of Decay 3 is set to unfold years after the onset of the apocalypse, focusing on humanity's struggle to establish secure settlements amidst the undead threat.
State of Decay 3 is in development for PC and Xbox Series, following the release of its predecessor in 2018.
