Bug Out Event Returns with Sizzlipede Debut in Pokémon Go

Author : Aurora Update : May 18,2025

The Bug Out event is set to make a thrilling return to Pokémon Go from March 26th to 30th, introducing a host of Bug-type Pokémon and featuring the much-anticipated debut of Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch. This event is brimming with exciting wild encounters, raids, bonuses, and new challenges designed to keep you engaged.

Lure Modules will be particularly crucial during the Bug Out event. Not only will they attract Sizzlipede, but if you manage to catch enough Pokémon using a single Lure Module at a PokéStop, you'll see an increased number of Pokémon appearing there.

You'll also benefit from earning double XP and additional Candy for Nice Throws or better, with enhanced chances of receiving Candy XL for trainers level 31 and above. Shiny hunters will be delighted to know that the odds of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede will be higher during this event.

Expect to see a variety of Bug-type Pokémon swarming in the wild, including Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, and Nymble. With a bit of luck, you might also come across Cutiefly.

In one-star raids, Sizzlipede will be joined by Scyther and Nincada, while Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor will dominate the three-star raids. Completing event-themed Field Research tasks will reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event Pokémon.

Don't miss out on the free Timed Research, which offers encounters with Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more, along with a Lure Module. For those looking for extra rewards, there's a Paid Timed Research option available for $2 or the local equivalent, featuring encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor, plus two Premium Battle Passes and an additional Lure Module.

New Collection Challenges will offer rewards such as Stardust, XP, and Pokémon encounters, and PokéStop Showcases will spotlight event-themed Pokémon. Be sure to check out the in-game shop for new items like Sizzlipede Boots and a Scolipede Jacket.
