Bethesda to Announce Oblivion Remaster Tomorrow
After months of swirling rumors and tantalizing leaks, it seems that Bethesda is on the brink of officially unveiling the much-anticipated remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The excitement is palpable as Bethesda has scheduled a major announcement for tomorrow at 8am PT/11am ET, which will be broadcast live on both YouTube and Twitch.
The official Bethesda Twitter/X account dropped a teaser today, featuring a prominent "IV" and a backdrop that unmistakably echoes iconic Oblivion artwork, leaving little doubt about what fans can expect. While the post refrained from explicitly stating the nature of the announcement, the visual cues are a strong hint towards the Oblivion remaster.
The journey to this point has been filled with speculation and leaks. The first whispers of an Oblivion remaster surfaced in 2020, thanks to a leaked Bethesda release schedule from the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023. That document suggested a remaster planned for fiscal year 2022, but the timing suggested it might have been a project that was shelved. However, the buzz reignited in January of this year when leaks hinted at a full-blown remake, developed by Bethesda with assistance from Virtuos. The latest leaks, just last week, from Virtuos' website, showcased in-game images, further solidifying the belief in the project's existence.
If these recent leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered is set to launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. Fans can also look forward to a Deluxe Edition, which will include the much-talked-about horse armor, in addition to the standard version.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow for what promises to be a historic announcement, where Bethesda is expected to confirm these details and perhaps share even more about what to expect from this eagerly awaited remake.
