Aquarion Tribe Gets Major Buffs in The Battle of Polytopia, Becoming Thalassic Superstars!
Midjiwan has recently unveiled a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia, featuring a comprehensive rework of the Aquarion Tribe, the first special tribe introduced back in 2017. This update brings a fresh perspective to the game, enhancing the aquatic elements of the Aquarion.
The Aquarion Are Getting A Serious Makeover
Let's dive into the details of their new look. The Aquarion's land units now boast mermaid tails, indicating they are either fully aquatic or amphibious. This change allows them to move effortlessly across water, though they may be a tad slower on land. The update introduces flooded terrain, enabling both land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay.
The building mechanics have also taken a splash into the aquatic realm. Players can now construct buildings on water, and the mysterious Lost Cities can be discovered in deep-sea ruins, serving as an ideal base for those who favor a naval strategy.
A new structure, the Atoll, facilitates connectivity between water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Additionally, Aqua Crops have made a permanent return to the Aquarion's arsenal, functioning similarly to their land-based equivalents.
Prepare to encounter new sea creatures introduced by the revamped Aquarion Tribe. Sharks now prowl the waters, capable of launching surprise attacks. Puffers provide long-range bombardment, while Jellies deliver electric shocks to their enemies.
Fan-favorite units like Tridentions and Crabs have also returned. Crabs now have the ability to flood tiles they traverse, making them a synergistic match for the mermaid-tailed troops. Curious to see it in action? Check out the trailer below!
