HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 is set to premiere on April 13, and the cast is expanding with six new actors joining the series. According to Variety, the new additions include Joe Pantoliano (known from Memento and The Matrix), Alanna Ubach (Euphoria, Bombshell), Ben Ahlers (The Gilded Age, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Hettienne Park (Don't Look Up), Robert John Burke (RoboCop 3), and Noah Lamanna (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds).

These actors will bring to life both characters from the original games and new faces in the live-action adaptation of The Last of Us Part II. Joe Pantoliano will play Eugene, a character who was briefly introduced in the game as Ellie and Dina's friend. In Season 2, Eugene's role will be expanded, much like Bill's was in Season 1. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann shared with Variety their excitement about fleshing out Eugene's backstory, highlighting how it will deepen the narrative around Joel and Ellie's relationship.

Robert John Burke is set to portray Seth, the bar owner and bigot from The Last of Us Part II, while Noah Lamanna will play Kat, Ellie's former girlfriend. Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers, and Hettienne Park will introduce new characters named Hanrahan, Burton, and Elise Park, respectively.

Joining these new faces are the returning cast members, including Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Isabela Merced as Dina, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and Gabriel Luna as Tommy. The showrunners have indicated that the story of The Last of Us Part II will span multiple seasons, promising more surprises as the series unfolds.

For those eager to dive deeper, more information is available on why the show may extend over four seasons, and insights from Neil Druckmann reveal that Season 2 will include some intense scenes that were cut from the original video game sequel.
