Disney ha anunciado planes para ubicar su próxima atracción temática de Coco en áreas actualmente de backstage adyacentes a Paradise Gardens Park y Pixar Pier en Disney California Adventure. Mientras tanto, la nueva tierra temática de Avatar ocupará parte del Hollywood Backlot existente, lo que supondrá el cierre permanente de la atracción Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! a principios de 2026.

Disney Parks Blog compartió estas actualizaciones junto con arte conceptual, confirmando que la construcción de la atracción de Coco comenzará en los bastidores este otoño. Revelada en D23 2024, esta marcará la primera experiencia en un parque temático basada en la aclamada película de Pixar Coco.
