Der globale Server von Romancing SaGa Re:universe wird am 2. Dezember 2024 geschlossen. Während die japanische Version weiterhin läuft, markiert dies das Ende der Reihe für die globale Veröffentlichung nach einer vierjährigen Laufzeit.

Die Schließung des Spiels steht unmittelbar bevor. In-App-Käufe, einschließlich kostenpflichtiger Juwelen und des Umtauschs von Google Play Points, wurden nach der Wartung am 29. September 2024 bereits eingestellt.

Die im Juni 2020 veröffentlichte globale Version stieß trotz ihrer starken visuellen und akustischen Qualität und des großzügigen Gacha-Systems auf gemischte Resonanz. Im Gegensatz zu seinem erfolgreichen japanischen Gegenstück fehlten in der globalen Version bedeutende Inhaltsaktualisierungen wie Solistia und 6-Sterne-Einheiten, ein einjähriges Fehlen, das viele Spieler enttäuschte.
