Sony hat den weit verbreiteten PlayStation Network (PSN) -First (PSN) angesprochen, der an diesem Wochenende für fast einen ganzen Tag lang die Dienste verkrüppelte. Während das Unternehmen in einem Social -Media -Post ein "operatives Problem" anerkannte, bleiben Einzelheiten zu den Ursachen und vorbeugenden Maßnahmen nicht bekannt.

Als Belohnung für die Störung erhält PlayStation Plus Abonnenten eine fünftägige Erweiterung ihrer Abonnements, die automatisch auf ihre Konten angewendet wird.

Der Ausfall hat das Gameplay erheblich beeinflusst, wobei über ein Drittel der Spieler nicht in der Lage war, sich anzumelden, und die weit verbreiteten Berichte über Serverabstürze.

Dieser Vorfall unterstreicht die Bedenken bei Spielern, die die Anforderung von Sony für ein PSN-Konto seit langem kritisiert haben, selbst für Single-Player-Spiele auf dem PC. Die Abhängigkeit von PSN für auch Offline -Erlebnisse lässt die Spieler für diese Störungen anfällig.
