Marvel Rivals-Mods mit Trump und Biden entfernt, Nexus-Mods-Besitzer gedroht

Um Marvel Rivals ist eine Modding-Kontroverse ausgebrochen, nachdem Nexus Mods in einem einzigen Monat über 500 von Benutzern erstellte Modifikationen entfernt hat. Die Entfernung von Mods, die den Kopf von Captain America durch Bilder von Joe Biden und Donald Trump ersetzten, löste erhebliche Gegenreaktionen aus.

Der Eigentümer von Nexus Mods, TheDarkOne, klärte die Situation auf Reddit und erklärte, dass beide Mods gleichzeitig entfernt wurden, um Vorwürfe politischer Voreingenommenheit zu verhindern. TheDarkOne bemerkte das merkwürdige Schweigen der YouTube-Kommentatoren zu dieser gleichzeitigen Entfernung.

Die Kontroverse eskalierte jedoch, als TheDarkOne berichtete, nach den Entfernungen zahlreiche Drohungen erhalten zu haben. TheDarkOne erklärte: „Wir erhalten Morddrohungen, werden als Pädophile bezeichnet und ertragen verschiedene Beleidigungen, nur weil jemand beschlossen hat, dieses Problem zu eskalieren.“

Dies ist nicht das erste Mal, dass Nexus Mods wegen der Entfernung von Mods kritisiert wird. Bei einem Vorfall im Jahr 2022 wurde ein Spider-Man Remastered-Mod entfernt, der Regenbogenflaggen durch amerikanische Flaggen ersetzte. Damals unterstützte Nexus Mods öffentlich die Inklusivität und erklärte seine Politik gegen das Entfernen von Inhalten, die Vielfalt fördern.

TheDarkOne schloss mit der Feststellung, dass Nexus Mods sich nicht mit denen befassen wird, die diese Aktionen kontrovers finden.
