Jedi Power Battles Unveils New

Aspyr's upcoming release of Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles for modern consoles features a surprising new playable character: Jar Jar Binks. A recent trailer showcases Jar Jar wielding a large staff in action-packed gameplay. This isn't the only addition; Aspyr has unveiled nine other new playable characters, with more to come.

The 2000 original, Jedi Power Battles, already boasted a diverse roster of playable characters based on Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace. This updated version aims to capitalize on nostalgia while adding fresh content. Beyond customizable lightsaber colors and cheat code support, players will enjoy a significantly expanded character selection.

The Jar Jar Binks reveal trailer highlights his unique combat style using a staff, complete with his signature chaotic dialogue. While some fans might have envisioned a more villainous "Darth Jar Jar" interpretation, this version remains true to the character's comedic nature. Jar Jar Binks will be playable upon the game's January 23rd launch; pre-orders are available now.

Newly Revealed Playable Characters:

  • Jar Jar Binks
  • Rodian
  • Flame Droid
  • Gungan Guard
  • Destroyer Droid
  • Ishi Tib
  • Rifle Droid
  • Staff Tusken Raider
  • Weequay
  • Mercenary

Aspyr's commitment to expanding the roster extends beyond these ten. Several more new playable characters are planned for release, adding further variety to the experience. The inclusion of characters like the Staff Tusken Raider and Rodian, alongside various droid types, promises a richer and more engaging gameplay experience.

With the release date fast approaching, fans eagerly anticipate experiencing these new additions, including the unexpected yet undeniably iconic Jar Jar Binks. Aspyr's past experience remastering classic Star Wars titles, such as Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, suggests a positive outlook for this updated version of Jedi Power Battles.
