Setting and Story

The game unfolds within the Library of Babel, a setting inspired by Jorge Luis Borges' short story and the biblical Tower of Babel. This unique blend of literary and religious references creates a compelling and intriguing backdrop, a refreshing change from typical folklore settings.

Players assume the role of The Seer, awakening in the Library with a mysterious destiny: becoming the custodian of this vast, enigmatic place. The Seer's arrival triggers significant changes, including a monstrous emergence from the depths, time-travel elements reminiscent of Doctor Who, and a looming threat from a clockwork star.

Gameplay

Black Beacon features 3D free-roaming exploration with adjustable camera perspectives (top-down or free camera). Real-time combat is hack-and-slash focused, rewarding strategic combo chaining and character switching mid-battle. This tag-team system allows benched characters to regenerate stamina quickly, encouraging dynamic team management akin to a stylish anime-infused Pokémon experience.

Combat demands skillful timing and anticipation of enemy attacks. While straightforward against weaker foes, tougher opponents require careful observation and strategic responses to avoid being tossed across the arena. The diverse character roster, each with unique combat styles and moves, adds depth and variety to the gameplay. Several characters possess engaging personalities that encourage player investment.

Beta Experience

The global beta, accessible via Google Play (Android) and TestFlight (iOS – limited slots), allows players to experience the first five chapters.
