This AFK Journey tier list helps you determine which characters to prioritize. While many characters are viable, some excel in endgame content. This list ranks characters based on versatility, overall performance in PvE, Dream Realm, and PvP.

AFK Journey Tier List
It's important to note that most AFK Journey characters are usable. However, some are superior for challenging endgame content.
This tier list prioritizes versatility and performance across PvE, Dream Realm, and PvP.

S-Tier Characters
Lily May, a recent addition, is a must-have Wilder character, offering significant damage and utility. She excels in PvP, PvE, and Dream Realm.
Thoran remains the best F2P tank, especially before obtaining Phraesto. Reinier is a top priority support for both PvE and PvP.
Koko and Smokey & Meerky are essential supports for various game modes. Odie is crucial for Dream Realm and PvE.
Eironn, with Damien and Arden, forms a dominant Arena team.
Tasi (added November 2024) is a versatile Wilder character, excelling in most modes.
Harak (Hypogean/Celestial) is a powerful Warrior whose strength increases with each kill.
A-Tier Characters
Lyca and Vala effectively utilize Haste, a crucial stat. Lyca boosts party Haste, while Vala increases her own with each marked enemy kill. Lyca's PvP performance may be limited.
Antandra is a solid alternative tank to Thoran.
Viperian complements a Graveborn core with energy drain and AoE attacks, though less effective in Dream Realm.
Alsa (added May 2024) is a strong DPS mage, particularly effective with Eironn in PvP.
Phraesto (added June 2024) is a durable tank, but lacks damage output.
Ludovic (added August 2024) is a strong Graveborn healer, synergizing well with Talene and excelling in PvP.
Cecia, while a good Marksman, has decreased in value due to newer characters and meta shifts.
Sonja (added December 2024) significantly enhances the Lightborne faction with damage and utility.
B-Tier Characters
B-Tier characters are suitable for filling roles but are generally outclassed by higher-tier alternatives. Investment is not recommended.
Valen and Brutus are strong early-game DPS choices. Granny Dahnie provides decent tanking, debuffs, and healing.
Arden and Damien are meta PvP characters but less useful in other modes.
Florabelle (added April 2024) is a decent secondary DPS, but requires significant investment.
Soren (added May 2024) performs adequately in PvP but is suboptimal elsewhere.
Korin's Dream Realm effectiveness has diminished.
C-Tier Characters
C-Tier characters are quickly outclassed and should be replaced as soon as possible. Parisa offers AoE control but is easily replaced.
