Welcome to the "Digital Revolution of Devarattam," an innovative app designed to celebrate and promote the vibrant folk dance of Tamil Nadu known as Devarattam. This project is a heartfelt tribute to the legends of this art form, specifically honoring the esteemed recipients of prestigious awards: Kalaimamani Mr. M. Kumararaman, a retired teacher; Kalaimani Mr. M. Kannan Kumar; and Kalaimani Mr. K. Nellai Manikandan from Zamin Kodangipatti, who have been awarded the Kalaimamani, Kalaimani, and Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, respectively. This app is dedicated not only to these revered figures but also to my mentor, Mr. E. Rajakamulu, and the beloved legends of Devarattam.

Devarattam, a cherished folk dance, has been historically performed by the Rajakambalathu Nayakkar community. The dance is characterized by its intricate steps, ranging from a basic set of 32 to an advanced repertoire of up to 72 steps. These steps are foundational and serve as the basis for additional variations that enrich the performance.

In the traditional execution of Devarattam, dancers gracefully hold a kerchief in each hand and wear Salangai (anklets) on each leg. The dance is accompanied by the rhythmic beats of the Deva Thunthumi, a traditional musical instrument that enhances the visual and auditory experience of the performance. Through this app, we aim to spread awareness about Devarattam and its distinguished awardees, ensuring that the legacy and beauty of this art form continue to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.
